Emerson Brisbon began working with FIERCE as an active member in 2008. They then transitioned onto staff in February 2010. Emerson is a graduate of Hampshire College where they studied race and sexuality through the media of film, video and dance. The summer following their graduation, they began their re-education at FIERCE through the Education for Liberation Project level 2. Always having held a passion for education, it was at FIERCE that Emerson discovered an environment of truly liberatory education in the ways they had always imagined.
Their favorite topics to talk and learn about are race, gender, sex education and general wellness. Emerson is also a filmmaker and finds inspiration from the oral histories of LGBTQ people.
