I would like to share some of my experience at this year Creating Change Conference that took place at Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I had very unique experience. During, the preparation meetings, I was able to build some really strong teamwork skills, explore many techniques about curriculum development, workshop group facilitation, and media and networking communications.

Three FIERCE members and I were part of a member led facilitation of a workshop about Youth Organizing 101. Before we flew to Minneapolis, members with support of staff were able to create a curriculum to the workshop. We had intensive preparation meetings that last 3 weeks. We had about 15 participants from all over the country attend our workshop.

At the conference, I had some really unique experiences. I participated at few workshops that discussed youth workers & their relationship to youth; Race & LGBT organizing; Queer Progressive Muslim organizing. I was able to learn about different aspects of LGBTQ social justice movement, LGBTQ youth organizing, and LGBTQ communities in general. Also, I was able to meet some of FIERCE allies. I had great opportunity to network with other LGBTQ youth of color organizers.

Overall, I had a great experience at Creating Change.
